Community Mural

About the Project

We are collaborating with Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce to install a large Bangor community themed mural in Downtown Bangor.

Adams' design will incorporate artwork created by Bangor area artists on the theme of Bangor and its community. She has developed a vibrant, graphic pattern-based visual language filled with references to the natural world and motherhood that possess an heirloom quality.

The project is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2026.

Why Community?

Community gives people a sense of belonging and reminds us that we’re part of something larger than ourselves. When neighbors know one another they build trust and the resilience to grow together. We hope this mural, rooted in the spirit of Bangor can turn a blank brick wall into a mirror, reflecting shared identity, sparking connection, and adding beauty to our everyday lives.

The Mural Location

The mural will be located on the Hammond, a historic building at 2 Hammond Street in Downtown Bangor. This highly visible building can be seen from the intersection of Main, Central, and Hammond Streets in the very center of downtown.
