Trees & Bees

The Trees & Bees Committee is charged with landscape and pollinator projects around Bangor.

The committee is responsible for planting trees, creating gardens, and finding new opportunities to make our community more friendly for pollinators.

Current Projects

No Mow May / Leave the Leaves Signs

Show your participation in No Mow May and support pollinators by purchasing a No Mow May Yardsign. These reverseable signs are locally designed and locally printed. They can be ordered online and picked up locally at the Rock & Art Shop in Bangor.

Welcome to Bangor Signs

We're working to help refurbish the Welcome to Bangor signs that act as gateways to our city. Each sign is being repainted and will be surrounded by a native plants to create beauty and set an example for creating habitat for our pollinators. The first to be refreshed is on Oak Street as you cross the Penobscot from Brewer.
This project is sponsored by Varney Agency.

Making Bangor A Bee City USA

We’re working to make Bangor become a Bee City USA. This program recognizes, supports, and encourages pollinator conservation in cities, towns, and counties.
